Cute Hot Dogs
// July 28th, 2009 // Fun Stuff
The competition is heating up and it is getting extremely intense. To cleanse our palettes a little bit, I decided to just do something for fun here for a change. Let’s all cool our heels and enjoy looking at cute animals, such as this one, while we learn more about our hot dogs.

Aw, that’s a cute little guy. It’s a good thing to know, though, hot dogs aren’t really made out of puppies, thankfully. They’re made out of edible meat. They are traditionally made out of pork and beef. Sometimes, if additives, extenders and soy fillers are used in the United States, their label has to be changed- they can’t be called hot dogs anymore. They should be called links or something.
Hot dogs taste so great because they have all sorts of flavorings and spices such as salt, garlic and paprika. To ensure hot dogs stay fresh longer, sometimes preservatives are added to the mix, but just enough to keep them fresh and it prevents the spread of bacteria, and I think 9 out of 10 people agree that they don’t like eating bacteria.

Other hot dogs are made from chicken or turkey or other forms of poultry. This is generally healthier already. But manufacturers these days even use much less sodium and vegetarian meat. Wow, our hot dogs are getting better and better for you. And who doesn’t love chicken, yeah?
